How to Change Category Tax Rate for Product in SwilERP (RetailGraph)


A Product category is a type of product. The user creates product categories to organize products. With this, we can easily define our products in different-different categories. This article explains how to change the tax rate for the Product through the Category tax in Products option. Suppose users want to change tax rates on all products according to category. They can change it from the GST Updates section in the 'System Maintenance' form.

For example, a bottle is your product category in which sales and purchase tax were applied 12% previously. For now, the tax rate has been changed from 12 to 18%, and you want to update it in every product under that category. You can simultaneously update tax in products with this option.

Start with login in SwilERP dashboard to initiate the process

The first step is to change the tax rate in the category section whose tax rate you want to change.
  1. Go to Menu> Options section> System Maintenance.

How to Change Tax Rate

  1. Go to the GST Update section and click on the Category Tax in Product.
  2. Click on the Filter Category option and Select category to change the tax rate.
  3. Press OK to select it.

  1. After that, all your selected category are shown in the next screen.
  2. There you can view Category, Sales and Purchase Tax in the window.
  3. Tick-Mark on the Update In Lot option, if you want to update tax rate in Lots.
  4. Click on the Change button to Save the window.

Note: After updating the tax rate in product, this is applied to every selected category.
