How to Change Category-Tax in Product Through the SwilERP
An organization typically creates product categories to organize products. Also, a product category is a group of similar products with related characteristics. With this, we can easily define our products in different-different categories.
For example, a bottle is your product category in which sale and purchase tax were applied 12% before. And now, the tax rate has changed from 12 to 18%; now, so you want to update it for every product under that Category. You can simultaneously update Tax in products with this option.
In this article we will discuss how to change product tax as per the category tax. Suppose users want to change tax rates on all products according to category. They can change it from the 'GST Updates' section through the 'System Maintenance' window. Follow the below steps to do this process.
Start with Login in the SwilERP dashboard to initiate the process:
- Go to the System > System Maintenance.
- Then Select Reposting > Repost Receipt Entry.

How to change Category Tax in Product:
- In the next appearing window, select the GST Update tab.
- Now select the option of 'Category Tax In Product.'
- Click on the Filter Category option, and a list of categories will show you.
- Now, select the categories to change the Tax Rate and click on Ok.
- To update the Tax Rate click on the Change option.
- Tick mark option of Update in Lot if you also want to change the same.
- After that, you will get a successful message.
