What is the meaning of Prefix?

A prefix is an affix placed before a word's stem. Adding it to the beginning of one word changes it into another word. For example, when the prefix UN- is added to the word happy, it creates the word unhappy. In the other way, a prefix is a group of letters placed before the word. Particularly in the study of languages, a prefix is also called a performative because it alters the form of the words to which it is affixed.

How can you change the Prefix in Series?

In SwilERP, users can change the prefix name in the transaction series from the GST Update section in the System Maintenance form. Users can Add or Remove the prefix name in the transaction series at their convenience. The thing that you keep in mind is at the time of printing the transaction series name with prefix should be mentioned. Because while uploading, GSTR-1 and GSTR-2A prefix name should be matched with the transaction. For your understanding, if you update the prefix name (22-23- AB22) while uploading the e-Invoice, then your prefix name should be the same everywhere.

Start with Login in SwilERP dashboard to initiate the process

  1. Go to the System> System Maintenance> Reposting> Repost Receipt Entry

How to Change Prefix in Series

  1. Go to the GST Update section and click on the Change Prefix (Series Link) option.
  2. Select the Transaction Name where you want to change the series prefix.
  3. The Series column will automatically be filed according to the transaction.
  4. Now, in the Prefix column, you can change the prefix according to you.
  5. Click on the Update Prefix option to save the window.
Note: Here, you will see the selected financial year in your software.

  1. After that, you will get a "Saved Successfully" message in a pop-up window.
  2. Press OK to continue.
