How to Use Facilities of Merge two Masters in SwilERP


What is the meaning of merge two masters?

Merging masters involves combining two masters of data into one master. To combine or join masters together, or to cause things to do this, is meant by merging masters. For your understanding, here is the example: You have a customer with two different entries, and now you want to merge these entries into one entry. Then, you can use this option to merge the masters.

After merging two masters into one, their posting accounts will be the same as one posting account for both. It will reflect in accounts and ledgers also. In SwilERP, you can now easily merge masters at your convenience. This option is available in the facilities section in the form of system maintenance.

Before starting this process, you keep two things in your mind as written below:
  1. Take a backup before applying this procedure.
  2. You can not revert back the values in the reverse process.

Start with Login in SwilERP dashboard to initiate the process

  1. Go to the System> System Maintenance> Reposting> Repost Receipt Entry.

How to merge two masters

  1. Go to the Facilities section and click on the Merge 2 Masters option.
  2. Here you will see the Master column. Select a master on which you want to apply the process.
  3. Now, tick mark on the Delete Master Records. It is mandatory to tick-mark on this option to delete all records.
  4. Select the Current Value for which you want to change the master from the drop-down list.
  5. Now, select the New Value you want to merge with the Current Value.
  6. Click on the Merge button to save the process.
  7. After that, a notification of Master Merged Successfully will appear.
As shown in the below-given image:

  1. After merging the customer master, you also have to merge the Posting Account.
  2. In the same window, select the master as Account Master.
  3. Tick mark Delete Master Records option.
  4. Select the Current Value & New Value as same as you selected on the above-given process.
  5. Click on the Merge option.
  6. After that, a notification of Master Merged Successfully will appear.

Note: After merging masters, this process is applied to your selected values in SwilERP Software.
