How to Generate and Export Tran-2 Data in Excel in SwilERP


What is Tran-2 Data?

Form TRAN – 2 can be filed by a dealer/trader who has registered for GST but was unregistered under the old regime. Such a dealer who does not have a VAT or excise invoice for stocks held by them on 30th June 2017 can use TRAN -2 to claim a tax credit on the stock with them. A manufacturer or service provider cannot file Form GST TRAN – 2. TRAN-2 has to be filed by a dealer or trader at the end of every month when stock is sold, reporting the details to claim the input tax credit.

The dealers who do not have bills/invoices for the tax paid on the inputs must file TRAN-2. A taxpayer has to file Form TRAN-1 and GSTR-3B for the relevant month before filing Form TRAN- 2. This Form has to be filed for every month in which such stock is sold up to December 2017.

First, login into SwilERP dashboard to initiate the process

Step: 1 Generate Tran- 2 Data
  1.  Go to the GST Section> Generate Tran- 2 Data.

  1. After that, a new window of Generate Tran-2 Data will appear in the next slide.
  2. Select the "Date Range" From to To in which you want to generate the Tran-2 data.
  3. Press OK to continue.
As shown in below-given image:

  1. After clicking on OK button, you will get "Tran-2 Data Generated Successfully" message.

How to Export TRAN-2 Data (Excel)

Step: 2 Export Tran- 2 Data in Excel format
  1. Go to the GST Section> Export Tran-2 (Excel)

  1. After that, select the Date Range as you choose in the Generate Tran-2 window.
  2. Click on the OK button.
  3. While clicking on OK button, a new window for selecting File Path will appear in the next slide.
  4. Select path where you want to save it and enter the File Name.
  5. Click on the Save option to save it.
As shown in the below-given image:

  1. After saving this window, an excel file will automatically open in your system.
  2. There you'll see all related details in the format of Tran-2.
