How to Import PRN File & Print Barcode in SwilERP


What is PRN File?

The PRN file format represents a print ready document. It is basically used for barcode designing in SwilERP software. PRN file contains data with instruction sets for printers, such as what to print, paper size, product name, MRP, etc. It’s very few often used for document sharing because it only gets created when a printing command is given. PRN file is an original document that is used for barcode printing, and this is provided by BarTender. So, you can not make modifications to the document inside.

Start with login in SwilERP dashboard to initiate the process

  1. Go to the Tools Menu> Barcode Designer.
  2. After that a new window of Barcode Designer will appear.
  3. Then, select the Format Name from the above-given option.

Step:1 Select file format
  1. Go to the Reports section and click on the DOS Print Barcode button.
  2. After that, you'll see PRN file format next to the screen.

Step:2 Copy data from the provided PRN file
  1. A PRN file is provided by your BarTender.
  2. Open the PRN file in Notepad.
  3. Fill in details from PRN file in the format of SwilERP Software.
  4. And Save the window, with the given option.

How to Print Barcode

  1. Go to the Purchase Menu> Purchase Invoice.
  2. Create a new purchase invoice or select previous one.
  3. After that, click on the right tab of your mouse. And select Print Barcode option.

  1. After that, a new window of Bar Printing Setting will appear in the next slide.
  2. Tick mark on the product, which you'll see in the left side of screen.
  3. Now, select the File Format from the drop-down list.
  4. Click on the Print Option, and a new pop-up window of a print option will appear.
  5. Choose Dot Matrix option from the given options.
  6. Press OK to continue.
  7. Click on the Save to BarFormat.PRN option.
  8. Click on the Print button to print the format.
Note: You can not see the preview of the Barcode format.
