IMS Customer File Masking in Unisolve
How to Enable and Verify Customer File (C File) Masking in IMS in Unisolve Software
A new update has been added in the Unisolve IMS feature to protect customer information while generating IMS files. With this update, users can enable customer data masking through the Zip Code option available in IMS Registration.
Once this option is enabled, sensitive customer details such as customer name, address, phone number, DL number, and GSTIN will be masked automatically in the generated Customer File (C File). Only required fields like Customer Code, City, State, and ZIP Code will remain visible.
This masking process is applicable for:
- Manual Reports (Text – PIPE Format)
- Automated Reports (API Output)
Process to Enable and Verify IMS Customer File Masking
Step 1: Open IMS Registration
Go to: Utility → IMS Export/Import → IMS Registration.
Step 2: Enable Zip Code Option
In the IMS Parameter Window, enable the Zip Code checkbox.
- Locate the Zip Code option.
- Tick/Enable the checkbox.
- Click on OK to save the settings.
Step 3: Generate IMS Data Files
- Go to: Utility → IMS Export/Import → Generate IMS Data Files.
- Select:
- Month
- Date Range (if required)
- Master Group
- Click on OK.
- IMS files will be generated in the selected file path.
After generating the IMS files:
Purpose
The extracted folder will contain the Customer File (C File) in text format.
Step 5: Verify the Masked Customer File
- Open the extracted Customer File (C File) in Notepad.
Changes You Will See in the File:
Blank Fields in Masked File
The following fields will appear blank:
- Customer Address
- Address1
- Address2
- Phone Number
- DL Number
- GSTIN
Fields That Will Remain Visible
Customer Code
- City
- State
- ZIP Code
