How to Create Product Category in SwilERP (RetailGraph)
A product category refers to a particular sort of item or service. A company usually creates product categories to arrange products, and users can also edit and view the already created Category. In the SwilERP, there is an option to create a Product Category from the Masters menu. To create and view the Product Category follow these steps:
Start with Login in the SwilERP dashboard to initiate the process:

Go to the
Masters menu.
- Select the
Inventory > Product Category.

In the next window, you'll see the Product Category window:

Now, you can see the list of existing product categories.
- Users can also create a new category with the option of
New .
- You can Edit/ Print/ Delete and Refresh the existing Product Category.
Select the Category section:

To create a new Product Category:
- Click on the New option.
- Now, enter the Category Name in a dialog box.
- Select Sales tax and Purchase tax.
- If required, then select the HSN code .
- Kindly update details in mandatory fields.
- After that, Click on the Save tab.

Select the Additional Details section:

You can set the
Discount Limit by the given option.

Select the
Product
Category Color tab, and the user can give the color of a particular product.
Note:-
You have to enable the "
Recall Sale Rate
" and
"Recall Purchase Rate". This feature will give you convenience while billing the products having category, which you enable for "
Recall Sale Rate
" and
"Recall Purchase Rate".
It shows on which price you sold your product in the last transaction with the same customer. Also, you will have the freedom to sell the product at the same rate or not.

Note:- 1- You can create a new product category by importing excel file by Import/Export Data window.
2- In a single category, there can be multiple products.
