View Profit & Loss Account in SwilERP

A profit and loss account shows a business's annual net profit or net loss. It is prepared to determine a trader's net profit or net loss. 

In the SwilERP software, there is an option in the Reports section to view the Profit and Loss account.

What terms usually appear on the Debit and Credit sides of a profit and loss account?

On the Debit side are the gross loss and all indirect expenses, while on the credit side are the gross profit and all indirect revenues.


Start with Login in the SwilERP dashboard to initiate the process:
  1. Go to the Reports
  2. Select Account Reports > Profit and Loss Account.

Here are the steps to view the profit & loss account:

  1. The next slide P&L account window will appear:
  2. Go to the Home tab.
  3. Select the Date Range 'From to To' till which you want to view the report.
  4. Tick a mark in the Last Year Comparison, If you want to view compression in both years.
  5. Click on the View tab.

Note: Features of Profit and Loss Account:

  1. Indirect Expenses: All the transactions in Indirect expense are shown in this column (You can view all entries under indirect expense by double-clicking on it) 
  2. Net Profit: You can view the profit in this column; if you are in a profit situation.
  3. Gross Profit: Details of gross profit are also visible in this column. 
  4. Net Loss: You can view the loss in this column; if you are in a loss situation.

View Closing Stock Details:

  1. Go to the Closing Stock tab and double-click on it. 
  2. A new pop-up window of Product wise current stock details will appear on the next slide. 
  3. Here you can view the Products' name, Current stock, Stock as on, Rate, and Stock Value details along with their total amount. 
  4. Users can also view the following details:
    1. Account name
    2. Stock location
    3. Closing Stock as on 31st March 
    4. Closing Stock as on the current date 
    5. Branch name
    6. Grand total amount
