How to Set Up Database or Data Link in SwilERP to Start Work

Database Setup (Data Link and Registration)


In this Article, we discuss database setup and how to register and link data in SwilERP. After the software's installation, some processes must be done for the software to work. We have to do database setup for working on SwilERP; hence we need to register the business.

Database Setup

A database is an information set up for easy access, management, and updatingSoftware databases typically store aggregations of data records or files that contain information, such as sales transactions, customer data, vendor data, and product information.

There are two types of databases in SwilERP:
  1. Default Data: In the context of databases, default data are used for creating new database for using software.
  1. Demo Data: The demo data will be loaded in a demonstration mode in the context of databases. In this have to Import Demo Data files from your system, such as data of Garments, Pharmaetc.

Meaning of Data Link

A Data Link is a process of entering the Server name, User name, and PasswordA data link is meant to establish a connection between two devices that need to transfer data between one anotherA data link is the means of connecting one location to another to transmit and receive digital information. Also, you can import the backup file to link your data with the current software.

What is Registration Process?

We have to update Customer details in SwilERP software in the Registration process. Registration is the process by which a company files required details in the software. In this, we have to update the Customer's Business name, Branch details, Users, Location, and Address which is updated on the CRM portal.

Do follow the below-given steps to know the process of Database Setup

As per the above-given information, there are two types of databases: default data and demo data.

1.)  How to setup Default data:
  1. First, open SwilERP Login window.
  2. Go to the Data Link Properties on the right at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Enter the Password to open it. Your local service provider will provide the password, or you can make a ticket on support.swildesk.com.

  1. After entering the password, a new window will appear of Data Link Properties.
  2. Enter the Server Name in the column.
  3. Enter the Database name which you want to create.
  4. Click on the Update to new version option.
  5. Save the window with the given option.
  6. After then, a default user will created with Admin user credentials.
  7. Now, you can Login SwilERP with your default password.

2.)  How to setup Demo data:
  1. First, do the same process you have done in during the setup of default data to open the Data link properties.

  2. After the data link properties window opens, enter the Server and Database name to create demo data.

  3. Now, you have to Import Demo Data files from your system, such as data of Garments, Pharma, etc.

  4. Click on the Restore Database option.

  5. Then a pop-up window for selecting the file path will appear.

  6. Select the File from your system and open it.

  7. And, Save the window with the given option.

  8. After this process, Login with the default credentials to open the SwilERP.

  1. To Link the Data in SwilERP, open the software.
  2. Go to the Data Link Properties on the right at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Enter the Password to open it. Your local service provider will provide the password, or you can make a ticket on support.swildesk.com.

  1. After entering the password, a new window will appear of Data Link Properties.
  2. Enter your Server Name in the column.
  3. Enter Database name to which you want to create.
  4. Now, you have to Import Data files from your system. It will be your backup data or other data.
  5. Click on the Restore Database option.
  6. Then a Pop-up window for selecting the file path will appear.

  7. Select the File from your system and open it.

  8. Save the window with the given option.

  9. After this processLogin with your user credentials to open the SwilERP.

How to do Registration of SwilERP

Here are the steps to know the registration process of SwilERP:
  1. Open SwilERP software to open the registration window.
  2. Go to the Registration option on the right at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Enter the Password to open it. Your local service provider will provide the password, or you can make a ticket on support.swildesk.com.

  1. After that, a new Registration window will appear on the next slide.

  2. In this, you will fill the details as per the CRM portal. ( i.e. Location, Users, Serial number, Key number, Password, Features, etc.)

  3. First, enter the Serial Number in the column.

  4. Enter Key number.

  5. As provided, select the number of Users from the drop-down list.

  6. Select Locations such as single location and multi-locations.

  7. Select the number of Mobile Users from the drop down list.

  8. Enter Password, Business Type, and Registration to details in columns.

  9. Enter Business Address in the Address and Station column.

  10. Update Validation date of business.

  11. Now, Tick-Mark on the Features you want to add in the software, as shown in the image below. (Note: Once you tick-mark on the features, you cannot make any changes in these)

  12. There is also an option of Export and Import data from which you can export and import the registration details.
  13. After fill all the details, click on the Register option.
