Data is a major asset of any organization. Most industries rely on data, especially retail/wholesale markets such as pharmacy stores, grocery stores, supermarkets, restaurants, etc. Achieving the greatest efficiency and error-free management is essential for these marketplaces. Thus, data scrubbing and data cleaning become necessary. It helps to free up the contiguous data blocks and make spaces for newly created files.
In RetailGraph, a new function named 'Shrink Database' has been added. This option is available on the 'Database Health' section of 'Tools'. This feature enables you to free up space that is unnecessarily occupied by files already deleted from the system. With just a tick mark, you can do it yourself. Earlier, this was done by the developer through the back-end. But now, the user can do it themselves. This way, it saves your time to call the query desk and wait till developers resolve.
You can easily navigate to the option by using the following steps:
1. Click on the Start button.
2.Select Database Health from the Tools property.
3. Enter Password and click on the Submit button.
4. The Database Health window opens.
5. Under the Check and Process ribbon, you will get the option ”Shrink Database”.
6. Tick mark the associated checkbox and click on the Process and Re-Check button.
Note: By default, the feature is disabled for all existing users; if necessary, you need to follow the above steps.
