Many times you need support for finding out Today's password asked in many options while running UNISOLVE or Cross. Here is a guide to generate Today's password yourself.
Today's password is asked in many utilities to control accidental damage to your data. This password consists of 7 characters as follows:
1st and 7th character is same. One of following depending on the option you are running:
RetailGraph:
S: System Default from Start menu - Options menu
Unisolve:
D : Delete wholesale invoice posting from System->System Maintenance->Reposting menu.
R: Repost Purchase Challan from System->System Maintenance->Reposting menu.
Cross:
Unisolve & Cross
D : Delete Links when you run Update Outstanding and Payments from Accounts->System option
V : Update Lock date for vat returns or gst returns (When you want to reduce this date, means unlock earlier data).
C: Check Corruption.
R: Restore Backup
RT: Print Report(_Report Temp)
T: TCS & TDS Registration
N: New Database: Filer option in utility menu allows you to look inside database tables. (To be done only by experts).
O: Open Database. Filer option in utility menu allows you to look inside database tables. (To be done only by experts).
In following special cases, the password will be more than 7 characters. Requires help from support staff.
YES:Close financial year (It is special case when you have entered transactions for next financial year and trying to do closing. Most probably it happens due to wrong date entry in some transactions. So you need help from support team.)
WRONG: Update Link from Link Backup (It is special case and to be run when you are sure that your current outstanding is wrong and link backup is correct)
RIGHT: Create Link Backup (It is special case and to be run only when you are sure that current outstanding is okay. By using this backup, in future, you will be able to update your outstanding.)
2nd character is calculated from current month. For Apr-B, for May & Mar -N, For Jun & Jul & Jan -K, For Aug-B, For Sep-T, For Oct-P, For Nov-O, For Dec-E and For Feb-G.
Next four characters (3rd to 6th) come from current date. It is sum of all numbers in date e.g. Today's date is 25-09-2017 so these 4 digits will be (25+09+2017) 2051.
So finally an example, today's password for Delete Links when you run Update Outstanding and Payments from Accounts->System option on 25th Sep 2017, will be :
DT2051D
