REPORT AND BARCODE DESIGNER


RetailGraph provides a utility named Report and Barcode Designer, which can be found in the Tool module. In Report Designer, we can create and edit formats of invoices/transactions/reports like sales invoices, Sales credit notes, Purchase invoices, and many more, which are given in RetailGraph. As same, we can make and edit the barcode formats through this utility. In RetailGraph, we can make any required changes to any existing format. And, you can also import the formats from the import/export transaction option.

Note: The changes in formats can be done as per the users requirements. Users can customize invoice format as per their convenience, for this, they have to connect with our SWIL Support TeamWith the below-given process, you'll know the implementation process of invoice & barcode formatting in RetailGraph software.

There are some fixed ranges of formats i.e. Bottom, Left/Right Margin, Top Margin, in which you can set the range of format. As written below:
  1. A4 Full Size:
    1. Costume Height: 11.5 Inch
    2. Wight: 8 Inch
  1. A4 Half Size:
    1. Bottom: 6 Inch
    2. Left: 600 mm
    3. Right: 600 mm
  1. A5 Size:
    1. Bottom: 3.5 Inch
    2. Left: 1.5 Inch
    3. Right: 1.5 Inch
  1.  A4th's 1/4 Size:
    1. Bottom: 6 Inch
    2. Left: 2.1 Inch
    3. Right: 2.1 Inch
  1. Landscape:
    1. Bottom: 432 mm
    2. Left: 600 mm
    3. Right: 720 mm
    4. Top: 600 mm

How to import new invoice format in RetailGraph

In RetailGraph, you can import invoice format, and then you can make changes to it. Follow the below-mentioned steps to know the process:
  1. Go to the Options Section>Export/ Import  data.
  2. In the Transaction tab, click on the Export/Import Format.  Enter the password and open it. (To know the password contact to your service provider)
  3. Select the Transaction, which you want to import in RetailGraph.
  4. Now, enter the Invoice Format name to import it.
  5. Click on the Import button.
  6. Select the Path of your file from your system, and open it.
Note: Users can also import invoice format directly from the report designer section.

How to Edit Invoice Format from Report Designer  

  1. Go to the Tools> Report Designer


A new window of Report Designer will appear in the next slide. Here we'll take the example to edit the sales invoice format.
  1. Go to the Round tab that you'll see on the top of the left side of the screen.
  2. Enter the  File name  which you want to edit in the column shown on the below screen.
  3. Here you can view the formats of RetailGraph.
  4. Select the invoice and press Enter.

  1. After selecting the sales invoice format, the XML file is shown on the next screen.                 
  2. Three tabs are showing on the left side as  Field, Properties, and  Reports, respectively.
  3. Click on the Reports tab and there you'll see some options to edit the format.
  4. Click on the WIN Sales Invoice tab and go to the next screen.

  1. You can edit the Header, Detail, and Footer part according to suitable variables.
  2. Go to the Data field tab to know the variables of format.
  3. You can select any option from here and view all the variables for formatting.

  1. If you want to add new columns in the format, then you can easily add them from the Fields section.
  2. Go to the fields section, and click on the  Add Calculated Field.

  3. After that, a new pop-up window will appear on the next slide. Write the column name which you want to add in the format.

  4. And Press OK.

  5. Scroll the mouse in the format sheet where you want to add a column.

  1. From the Properties option, you can update Font Size, Color, Layout, Border, Design, etc.
  2. First, select Column from the format sheet and Go to the Properties option.
  3. Now, you can update the column from the properties section accordingly.
  4. Users can also update Font and Size of column from the above-given Font section in the screen.

  1. To Edit the format according to the header, detail, and footer. Go to the Report section.
  2. Whichever report you select in the report section , details of that report will be shown on the next screen.
  3. For example,
  • To edit the invoice detail section, go to the sales invoice detail.
  • If you want to edit the heading name, then go to the sales invoice. Select the column and go to the Properties section to update it.
  • You can make any changes to reports and add a new field with the appropriate variable.
    1. After making changes in invoice format, you can save the format from the given option in a Round tab on the l side.

    How to import barcode format in RetailGraph

    In RetailGraph, you can import barcode format, and then you can make changes to it. Follow the below-mentioned steps to know the process:
    1. Go to the  Options Section>Export/  Import  data.
    2. In the Transaction tab, click on the  Export/Import Format.  Enter the password and open it. (To know the password contact to your service provider)
    3. Select the Transaction as Print Barcode  to import the format in RetailGraph.
    4. Now, enter the format name to import the XML file.
    5. Click on the Import button.
    6. Select the Path of your file from your system, and open it.

    How to Edit Barcode format from Barcode Designer

    1. Go to the Tools> Barcode Designer

    A new window of Barcode Designer will appear in the next slide. Follow the below-given steps to know the process:
    1. Select the  Barcode Format  which you want to edit from the drop-down list.

    2. After that, the  format of the Barcode  shows on the below-given screen.

    1. You can view all the fields in the Barcode Fields section.
    2. From the Properties option , you can update Font Size, Color, Layout, Border, Design, etc.
    3. First, select  Column  from the format sheet and Go to the  Properties  option.
    4. Now, you can update the column from the properties section accordingly.

    1. You can choose formats between WIN Format and DOS Format.
    2. And, you can also enter Label Width and Label Height from the properties section.
    3. Save the page with the given option.

    Note:  You can only import XML files in RetailGraph to edit the invoice format.
