How to Export and Upload GSTR-1 Data from SwilERP
In this Article, we will discuss how we can export GSTR-1 data in excel or CSV format.
Introduction of GSTR-1
Form GSTR-1 is a return statement in which a regular dealer needs to capture all the outward supplies made during the month or quarter. In simple words, GSTR-1 is a return in which details of sales and other outward supplies need to be captured.
GSTR-1 is a monthly or quarterly return that should be filed by every registered GST taxpayer, except for a few, as given in further sections. It contains details of all outward supplies i.e. sales. The return has a total of 13 sections.
Eligibility of filing GSTR-1
Every GST registered dealer, irrespective of the sales amount, must file the return monthly or quarterly, depending on their annual turnover. It is mandatory to file the return even if there were no sales, and a Nil return has to be filed by taxpayers. The following are exempted from filing the return:
- Input Service Distributor: They will have to file GSTR 6.
- Non-Resident Taxable Person: They will be filing GSTR 5.
- Composition Scheme Taxpayer under section 10: The person opting for Composition Scheme has to file a return in GSTR 4.
- Tax Deducted at source under Section 51: They have to file a return under GSTR 7.
- A tax collector at Source under Section 52: They have to file a return in GSTR 8.
- Suppliers of online information and database access or retrieval services (OIDAR) have to file GSTR-5A.

1) Before starting the process, ensure you have downloaded the latest version of SwilERP(For this, you can contact your local service provider or make a ticket on Support.swildesk.com.
2) To download government offline tool please click the link given below:
Start with Login in SwilERP dashboard to initiate the process:
- Go to the GST> GST Forms (For Offline Tool)> Export GSTR-1(Excel)
After that, a new pop-up window will appear in the next slide. Follow the below-given steps to convert data into excel format:
- Select the Date Range "From" to "To" which data you want to convert into excel. (For example, you selected the 1st of August to 31st August date range)
- Tick-Mark on the "Export Debit note in CDNR" to export all debit notes in excel format.
- Next, press OK.
- While clicking ok, a new window for selecting a path will appear.
- Select the File Path and Save it.

- After saving the file destination a excel file will open in your system.
- In the Excel file you'll see B2B, B2CS, HSN CODE, and Documents details.
- You can check the details on the Excel sheet before uploading into Offline Utility.

Start with Login in SwilERP dashboard to initiate the process:
- Go to the GST > GST Forms (For Offline Tool)> Export GSTR-1(CSV)
- Select the Date Range "From" to "To" which data you want to convert into CSV. (For example, you selected the 1st of August to 31st August date range)
- Tick-Mark on the "Export Debit note in CDNR" to export all debit notes in CSV format.
- Next, press OK.
- While clicking ok, a new window for selecting a location will appear.
- Select the File location and Save it.

- After this process we have to open the downloaded offline tool.
- Now, you have to Click on the “upload new invoice/other data for return” in the New option.
As shown in the below-given image:
- After that, you have to submit the details according to the fields. And click the proceed button.

- A new window will appear in the next slide, where you have to click on the import files option.
- After this process, you will see a new form with an option to import CSV/Excel.
- Click on the Import Excel or Import CSV to import the file in offline tool.
- In the "Select Section" select the file name from the drop-down list, which you want to import.
- Then click on the Import CSV or Excel to upload it.
- It will ask you the CSV path in the system, and you have to select the bsb.csv file to import. And then, click on the view summary button.
- This process will upload the CSV or Excel file in the tool, and you can see your summary by clicking the option view summary.
